This Is Why You Should Update Your Apps

If it seems like we’ve been pumping out a lot of updates since we released version 2.0 right before Christmas it’s because we have… but the only way for you to enjoy the fixes and new features is to make sure you keep glmps up-to-date.

Today 2.0.3 came out which includes:

✔ URLs in titles and comments are now clickable and open in Safari
✔ URLs and hashtags are kept in the recent hashtag list for easy reuse
✔ You can now edit titles of glmpses you have already posted (see the FAQ for how)
✔ Added support for Emoji characters
✔ Added new notifications

And in case you haven’t seen the full list of what changed in version 2, here it is:

✔ An entirely new design and user interface
✔ Privacy options give you control over who sees your glmpses
✔ You can change your mind at any time and make any glmps public or private
✔ Hashtags in titles are now clickable
✔ See and manage who follows you
✔ New detailed views for user profiles
✔ Discover popular users and glmpses shot nearby
✔ Enable or disable location by default
✔ Change your avatar
✔ Flag glmpses for review
✔ Find friends and post to Mixi (Japanese social network)
✔ Ability to share to new networks including Foodspotting, Blogger, Posterous and Mixi

Enjoy!

Proof of Commitment

v1.0 was our proof of concept.

And v2.0 is our proof of commitment.

After many sleepless nights the next version - featuring an entirely new design/UI plus a ton of new features - has officially been submitted to the App store.

The approval process is likely to take some time so we don’t have a definitive date for its release but as soon as it goes live you’ll know because it’ll be all we’ll be talking about.

Stay tuned for changes around our blog and site as well as we change things up to match the aesthetic of the new app.

Can’t wait til you all have 2.0!

New capture experience and ready for iOS 5!

What’s New?

In version 1.5 you’ll find:

- A new capture screen
- Video saved to your library
- Focus by touch

Plus, it’s now compatible with:

- iOS 5
- AirPlay for wireless transmission

Make sure to go get the upgrade - play around with it and then share your feedback about the new capture experience with us at contact(at)glmps.com.

We’re still very much heads-down because we have a bunch of very exciting stuff in the pipeline that we can’t wait to share with you soon!

Latest updates and fixes

We’ve been busy since our launch last month working on getting several new updates out to address the growing community’s wish list of features and bug fixes. If you don’t have the latest version 1.02.1 make sure to go download it.

 Here’s what’s new:

- Log in and register with an email address / password (you’re no longer required to use Facebook or Twitter)

- All glmpses with more than 5 comments are automatically collapsed to make it easier to scroll

- You can change your avatar by going to Settings -> Me, then touching the avatar next to your username

- There’s now a log out functionality through the Options menu

Get involved with GLMPS

We’re looking to form a small group of folks who love the concept and actively use GLMPS. We’ll be communicating with the team via email and/or Skype and are hoping to learn about your experience with the app, what you like/dislike and then give you access to new features to test out ahead of their release in the app store. If you’re interested in being part of the team drop us a note at contact[at]glmps.com.
